I don’t have a course topic yet, so how can I be sure my area of expertise is something people will pay for?

Start by exploring what already sells in your market. Look at best-selling books, digital products, or existing courses related to your areas of expertise. Amazon is a great place to start. Search for books in your category, then read through the reviews. Pay attention to what readers say was most valuable or what they wish had been included. That kind of feedback gives you real insight into what your audience is hungry for.

You can also look at influencers who serve a similar audience. Study their content and observe what gets the most engagement. Read through the comments and note what questions are being asked, what struggles are being shared, and what content gets people excited. These clues will help you identify topics that resonate.

Once you find a few ideas you’re curious about, it’s time to validate them. Talk directly to your ICA and ask the right questions to see what they truly want and need. You’ll find everything you need to guide those conversations in The “Course Calls” Strategy Cheat Sheet in Module 2, Lesson 1 of Your Ready to Launch Digital Course Track.

And if you haven’t yet completed the Course Creation Sweet Spot activity in Module 1, Lesson 1, make that your next step. It’s designed to help you pinpoint a course topic that you’re excited to teach and your audience is ready to pay for.
