Is it okay to use a deep dive survey instead of making phone calls to validate your course idea?

A deep dive survey can be a great supporting tool, but I don’t recommend using it on its own. Nothing replaces the value of a real conversation with your Ideal Customer Avatar. When you get on a call, you’re able to ask follow-up questions, dig deeper into their challenges, and uncover insights that just wouldn’t come up in a written survey.

You’ll often hear things between the lines or get clarity on something you didn’t even think to ask. That’s the power of direct conversations.

So yes, send a survey if you want to gather broad data, but make sure you also carve out time for actual course calls. To help guide you, grab The “Course Calls” Strategy Cheat Sheet in Module 2, Lesson 1 of Your Ready to Launch Digital Course Track and aim to schedule several calls this week. You’ll be amazed at what you learn when you talk to your ICA directly.
