How do I niche down or narrow my niche?
The more specific you can get, the better. It might feel intimidating at first to narrow your niche, but it will actually make it easier for the right people to find you, connect with you, and trust you as the go-to person for their problem.
In the early days of my business, I tried to speak to everyone. But when someone asked a question that didn’t fit what I really wanted to teach (like questions about a brick-and-mortar store or a physical product) I would feel uneasy. That was a sign I wasn’t attracting the right audience for the business I wanted to build.
When I finally got clear and chose to serve people who want to create digital courses, everything changed. I felt confident in my messaging, I created stronger content, and I showed up with more energy and purpose. Narrowing your niche allows you to serve better and make a bigger impact.
So if you ever feel unsure or uncomfortable when someone asks a question, take that as a clue. You may need to tighten your focus. Your goal is to talk directly to the people you most want to serve.
