Is it okay to change the name of my course when I launch it a second time, and would you recommend doing that?

Yes, it’s totally fine to change your course name for your second launch, and I’ve done it myself. The key is being willing to do the behind-the-scenes work and communicating clearly with your students.

If you update the name, make sure you change it everywhere it appears: inside the course platform, in your slide decks, emails, webinar content, your sales page, and anywhere else it’s referenced. You’ll also want to set clear expectations for existing students. Let them know exactly what’s changing and what isn’t. Will they still have access? Has the content changed or is it just the name? If the name change was made to better reflect new content or a rebranding decision, explain the reasoning so your students understand why.

I’ve done this with two of my own programs. I changed “The Facebook Marketing Profit Lab” to “The Profit Lab” when the course expanded beyond just Facebook marketing. We told students about the shift and why it mattered. I also changed “List Builders Lab” to “List Builders Society” when I launched Digital Course Academy, because we felt “Society” aligned more with “Academy” and created a stronger brand connection. That change was more subtle, so we didn’t make a big announcement, but we still kept students in the loop and confirmed they’d continue to have access.

In short, you can absolutely change your course name if it feels more aligned. Just make sure you clean up all the assets and communicate it clearly and respectfully to the students who already purchased.
