How do I know what should go in the webinar vs. the course, and how do I find the right balance between giving away too much or too little?
Your webinar should focus on one main concept that is closely tied to the outcome your course promises. This concept needs to be attractive and valuable enough to get your audience interested, but not so comprehensive that they no longer need your course. The goal of your webinar is to inspire, not to overwhelm. You want your audience to walk away thinking, “If I got that much value from the free webinar, I can only imagine what’s inside the full course.”
A simple and effective format is to present one big idea or concept, and then support it by teaching three secrets, strategies, or mindset shifts. These should give your audience clarity and a quick win. Your job is to help them see what is possible and show them why your course is the vehicle to get them there.
Save the step-by-step “how” for your course. That’s where your ICA will dive in, take action, and get results with your full support and roadmap. You want your webinar to leave them feeling motivated and ready to keep going — not fully satisfied and done.
When in doubt, ask yourself: “Will sharing this help them believe the transformation is possible?” If yes, it likely belongs in the webinar. If it’s a detailed process or step-by-step strategy they need to follow, save that for your course.
