What are the most important metrics to track during a Live webinar, and why do they matter?

There are a few key metrics I always track when I host a Live webinar, because they tell me exactly what’s working, what’s not, and where I need to make changes for the next time. These numbers help me make informed, strategic decisions instead of guessing.

Here are the vital webinar metrics I live and die by:

  • Registration numbers: How many people signed up? This gives you a sense of how effective your registration page, email promo, and social media messaging were.

  • Show-up rate: What percentage of those who registered actually attended Live? This helps you understand how compelling your reminders and event positioning were.

  • Engagement rate: Did people stay the whole time or drop off halfway through? Are they participating in the chat? The longer they stay, the more likely they are to buy.

  • Conversion rate: Of the people who attended, how many purchased? This is your biggest indicator of how well your offer, pitch, and webinar content aligned with what your audience wanted.

  • Replay views and conversion: If you offer a replay, track how many people watch it and how many of those convert. Sometimes you’ll find a large portion of sales come from replay watchers.

You can find these metrics outlined in The Webinar Success Tracker inside Module 6 Snapshot Lesson of Your Ready to Launch Digital Course Track. Use that tracker every time you host a webinar to review your data, see what worked, and tweak what didn’t. When you know your numbers, you can launch with confidence.
