How do you choose what to call your webinar? "Masterclass" vs "Webinar" vs "Workshop"?
It really comes down to what your audience will best understand and respond to. The terms “masterclass,” “workshop,” and “webinar” are often used interchangeably, but each carries a slightly different tone or expectation depending on your niche.
In my experience, audiences who aren’t in the online marketing world tend to be confused by the word “webinar.” It can feel too techy or vague. On the other hand, words like “workshop” or “masterclass” feel more familiar and inviting. They suggest a more interactive or educational experience, which often leads to better attendance and engagement.
I personally tend to lean toward “workshop” when I’m speaking to a broader or newer audience, because it’s approachable and action-oriented. But if you’re teaching something with a little more polish or depth, “masterclass” might elevate the perception of the event. It’s all about how you want the experience to feel, and what your audience will respond to most.
Test it out and see what feels right to you. There’s no wrong answer as long as it’s clear, compelling, and gets people to show up.
