What software do you use to update or add promotions to old podcast episodes? Can the process be automated?

Yes, you can absolutely update older podcast episodes with new promotions without having to manually edit each one. Most podcast hosting platforms now offer tools that make this process simple and automated.

For my podcast, we use Libsyn, which has a feature called Advertising Slots. This allows us to add, update, or swap out promotional content across multiple episodes at once. So when we're in launch mode, we can add webinar or cart open promos to dozens of episodes and then remove or replace them just as easily when the promotion ends.

Another great option is Buzzsprout, which offers a Dynamic Content tool. It lets you insert pre-roll, mid-roll, or post-roll audio into both new and existing episodes. You can change that content whenever you want without editing each file individually.

These features make it so much easier to turn your podcast into a flexible, evergreen marketing asset. You can keep your calls-to-action timely and relevant, even in episodes that aired months or years ago.
