How do you separate yourself from your student’s outcomes and not get emotionally involved in their success?

This is such an important question, especially when you care deeply about your students and want them to succeed. But here’s the truth: I focus on what I can control, and let go of the rest.

I make sure that I’ve created a quality program, that I’m showing up for my students consistently, and that my team is available to offer support and guidance. I never want to be the kind of course creator who disappears the minute someone enrolls. As long as I know I’ve put my heart into the course and built the support systems my students need, I can stand behind what I offer with confidence.

And honestly, having been in the digital course business for a while, I’ve seen what’s possible. I’ve celebrated so many incredible student wins. I’ve also seen that the people who find success are the ones who keep showing up, do the work, and don’t let roadblocks stop them.

That’s the part I can’t do for them, and neither can you. You can guide, support, and encourage, but you can’t do the work for your students. Their results are ultimately their responsibility. Once you accept that, you’ll be able to support your students fully without tying your worth or emotional energy to every single outcome.
