How should I navigate launching around the holiday season?
Launching during the holidays can absolutely work, but it takes some thoughtful planning. If you want to launch during this time, here’s what I recommend:
- Start your pre-launch early.
Begin warming up your audience and building your email list by December 1. This could include sharing valuable content, offering a strong lead magnet, or re-engaging your current subscribers. That way, by the time mid-December rolls around, your audience is primed and ready.
- Time your promotion strategically.
Avoid launching or doing heavy promotion right on Christmas Day, but don’t ignore the days between Christmas and New Year’s. That week can be a sweet spot because people are often home, relaxing, and paying more attention online than you’d think. If you're running a challenge or bootcamp, you can fill it right up until early January. For example, if your challenge starts January 8, you can run ads and promote up through the first week of January.
- Plan ahead if you want time off.
If you'd rather unplug during the holidays, plan to get as much done in November and early December as possible. You could even launch earlier in November or wait until the second week of January to start promoting your webinar or challenge, with your cart open the third week of January.
- Keep building your list.
It’s never too early to grow your email list. Even if your course won’t be ready until April, keep sharing helpful content and offering your lead magnet now. That list will be your best launch asset when the time comes.
- Leverage Black Friday and other seasonal promos.
Digital products can do well during seasonal promotions like Black Friday. Use email, social posts, Facebook ads, or even go Live to promote. Just make sure you're also thinking about list growth during that time, not just sales.
Holiday launches can work beautifully, as long as you’re realistic about your energy, your timing, and your goals. You've got options. Pick the one that works best for your season of life and business.
